Acceptable Use Policy

Standards and rules for acceptable behavior on Distrarc, across communities, and in outbound communication.

Last updated: 22 October 2026 · Effective date: 22 October 2026

1. Core Principles and Purpose

Distrarc is built to help software founders discover genuine buyer demand and participate helpfully in relevant conversations. We believe software distribution should be transparent, honest, and respectful of both individuals and community spaces.

This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) outlines the requirements and standards that govern your use of the Distrarc website, software, browser extensions, APIs, and communication services (collectively, the “Platform”). This Policy forms an integral part of our Terms of Service.

2. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to engage in, facilitate, or promote any of the following prohibited activities:

  • No spam: Do not generate bulk, repetitive, or low-quality promotional messages. Do not post identical replies across multiple threads or blast unsolicited pitches across forums or email.
  • No harassment or abuse: Do not post or send threatening, abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, or intimidating content. Never harass community members or target individuals who have asked not to be contacted.
  • No posting where community rules forbid promotion: You must respect the rules and guidelines of every subreddit, forum, and online community you interact with. If a subreddit or group forbids self-promotion, advertising, commercial pitches, or external links, you must not post promotional messages or links there. Advice-only replies or staying silent is required.
  • No scraping behind logins: Distrarc searches strictly public online discussions and self-published contact details. You must not attempt to scrape private groups, login-protected portals, behind paywalls, or gated platforms.
  • No misleading identity: Always post under your own genuine identity. Do not create sockpuppet accounts, impersonate other people or companies, or misrepresent your affiliation with your software product. Never use fake endorsements, fictitious customer testimonials, or misleading email header information.
  • No illicit or fraudulent services: Do not promote unlawful schemes, deceptive financial products, malware, spyware, phishing campaigns, or prohibited goods or services.

3. Browser Connector & Community Rules

When you install and use the Distrarc Connector (our browser extension or bridge) to post replies:

  • Your own logged-in accounts: Replies are posted exclusively through your own logged-in accounts on external platforms (such as Reddit and X). Your session cookies and credentials remain on your local machine and never leave your browser.
  • Explicit approval required: We never post without approval. Every suggested reply waits in your dashboard for your review. Nothing is queued or sent until you review and explicitly approve the exact text.
  • Rate limits and pacing: Replies are queued one at a time and paced with cooldown intervals to protect platform health and account standing. You must not tamper with, accelerate, or circumvent these rate limits.
  • Subreddit rules and community blocklists: We check public subreddit rules and respect community blocklists before queueing any reply. If a subreddit restricts promotion, promotional copy and links are blocked. You must not attempt to bypass community restrictions or disabled destinations.
  • Founder responsibility: You remain solely responsible for your own accounts, your posts, and compliance with the terms of service and rules of each third-party platform.
  • LinkedIn assisted replies: Distrarc does not post on LinkedIn and does not automate LinkedIn actions. When you choose to reply on LinkedIn, the connector opens the post in a new foreground tab, opens the comment box, and types the approved text; you must review it and press Post yourself. The connector reads only that single post. You are solely responsible for what you publish on LinkedIn and for following LinkedIn's terms and community standards.

4. Public Reply Tracking

After a reply is posted, Distrarc checks public threads (on Reddit, Bluesky, Hacker News, and X via an API) for follow-up responses and discussions so you can monitor buyer engagement. We inspect only public conversation threads and respect platform access limits.

5. Email Outreach Standards

If you use Distrarc to prepare or send email outreach through provisioned Google Workspace mailboxes on your secondary domain, you must satisfy the following standards:

  • Lawful basis: You must have a documented lawful basis under applicable privacy and anti-spam laws (including CAN-SPAM in the United States, CASL in Canada, GDPR and UK GDPR in Europe, and the DPDP Act in India) before approving any message.
  • Clear sender identity: Every message must clearly identify you and your company, and include a valid physical postal address.
  • Working unsubscribe mechanism: Every message must contain a functioning one-click unsubscribe link. When an address unsubscribes, bounces, or files a complaint, it is immediately placed on our global suppression list and cannot be emailed again.
  • No list purchasing: You may not upload or use purchased, rented, or third-party email lists.
  • Verification before sending: Guessed or candidate email addresses must be verified as valid by a configured email verification service before they can enter the sending queue. We do not probe mail servers or use unverified guesses.

6. Platform Security & Staff Access

You must not attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Platform, or breach security or authentication controls. Port-25 and SMTP handshake probing, denial-of-service attacks, and reverse engineering of scoring systems are strictly prohibited.

Staff view as for support: Authorized Distrarc staff may access a customer workspace in read-only mode strictly for customer support and troubleshooting. Every session is logged in our audit records, uses the strictly necessary distro_view_as cookie, cannot send messages, approve drafts, or modify any account data, and ends automatically after 1 hour.

7. Enforcement and Account Suspension

We investigate reported violations of this Policy. If we determine that an account has violated these terms, we may take immediate action, including:

  • Cancelling pending or queued reply and outreach jobs.
  • Revoking browser connector credentials and API access.
  • Temporarily suspending or permanently terminating account access without refund.
  • Adding offending domains or addresses to permanent blocklists.

8. Reporting Violations & Questions
